Job Title: Behavioral Healthcare Provider 1 Profession: Behavioral Healthcare Provider Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 52 Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Licensed Registered Nurse by Ohio Board of Nursing Certifications: Master’s degree in psychology or related mental health field, or Master’s degree in nursing with a Mental Health or Psychiatric Nursing concentration Must-Have: Completion of continuing professional education for license renewal Description: The Behavioral Healthcare Provider develops, coordinates, implements, and provides interdisciplinary services related to behavioral and biomedical science. This role is concerned with the application of knowledge and techniques to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. Within the scope of practice, the provider performs psychosocial interventions with clients. They conduct individual, family, or group interventions such as counseling and education. The provider develops intervention goals and objectives aimed at education and resolving clients' functional problems. This position involves establishing, implementing, and evaluating treatment system goals and objectives. The provider interviews clients and their families to define case goals and objectives. They assess clients and determine specific intervention techniques while monitoring responses to treatment. Feedback is provided on the effectiveness of prescribed treatment. The Behavioral Healthcare Provider evaluates cases managed by lower-level behavioral healthcare providers and monitors client progress from treatment plans. Necessary documentation is maintained to comply with requirements of regulatory agencies. This includes preparing social histories, admission/aftercare summaries, court documents, and necessary forms. The provider serves on treatment and program development teams. Participation in training meetings, departmental meetings, and court hearings is also required. They establish and maintain working relationships with other facilities and agencies to coordinate referrals and follow-up services. Knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention is essential. The ability to counsel on sensitive matters, proofread technical materials, and recognize unusual conditions is critical. Understanding abstract fields of study, problem-solving in complex situations, and applying social work theories and techniques are key aspects of this role. Unusual working conditions may arise, including exposure to potentially violent clients or unusual environments. Travel to community sites may be required under contracts with mental health authorities.
