LPN - Pediatrics (Clinic)

Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assumes responsibilities for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other provider in patient care departments. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the LPN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing. Qualifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire (American Heart Association). Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). Education: College diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing (required). Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, midlevel provider or physician. Nursing care is guided by provider orders and the nursing plan of care within the LPN scope of practice. Report patient responses to registered nurse or other provider for evaluation, intervention, and modification of the plan of care. Ensure documentation of care is complete and accurate. Collect and process specimens accurately. Change dressings and insert catheters as needed. Administer medication via oral, injection, or inhalation routes. Perform hearing and vision screening. Handle medication refills within scope. Complete forms such as appeals, prior authorizations, and MRI screens. Provide patient teaching. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $21.74 per hour to $36.31 per hour. Compensation offered to a candidate will depend on experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
