Confidential Global Commodity Trading Firm (Houston) Sits on the trade floor with the traders at one of the most successful commodity trading firms in the world, not a back‑office accounting seat Strong track record of internal promotion: people who start in settlements regularly move into pricing, scheduling, trade support, or commercial analysis, several within 1 to 2 years The company pays healthcare costs for dependents and makes a significant retirement contribution with immediate vesting On‑site gym and on‑site chefs, plus paid continuing education beyond CPE, including Python and other technical courses Duties Settle physical commodity trades: daily invoicing, preparing approved invoices for wire payment with treasury, and reconciling sales, purchases, transportation, and storage costs Work directly with traders, operators/schedulers, and commercial analysts, plus accounting, treasury, credit, and tax teams across the full trade lifecycle Verify volume and value of tank storage and in‑transit inventory, and reconcile booked activity to actual physical inventory Support the month‑end close, including review of assigned deals, accruals, and system‑generated entries, and assist with year‑end audit prep and external auditor Requirements Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in accounting, finance, business, or economics 1 to 4 years of relevant experience; strong entry‑level candidates with good internships or academics are also considered Strong Microsoft Excel skills required; VBA, Python, or SQL a plus but not required Detail‑oriented, accurate under deadlines, and comfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment Able to follow how a transaction flows through the business and communicate with both accounting and commercial stakeholders #J-18808-Ljbffr Talance Group
