Registered Nurse Behavioral Health at BJC Healthcare Florissant, MO

Overview BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. François, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system. Responsibilities Administer long-term psychiatric medication injections Drawing labs Collaborative care for clients Educating patients and reaching clients on their level of understanding Substance abuse disorder education Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs Develop, implement, and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver Proactively plan and ensure communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care Promote respect, equity and empathy in interactions with diverse and vulnerable populations Practice collaborative problem solving, service recovery and advocacy for patient-family centered continuity of care Implement care by integrating data from the interprofessional team and critical thinking in a safe and timely manner Evaluate changes in patient\'s condition, inform and collaborate with family and/or caregivers, and update the plan of care in the EMR Evaluate current nursing care to ensure evidence-based practice and quality patient outcomes Hours Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No weekends, nights, holidays or call.
