Configuration Management / Data Management (CMDM) Lead

About The Role

Peraton is seeking incumbent and external qualified candidates to support North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyene Mountain Complex (NCMC) – Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (NCMC-ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract III (NISSC III). T his position is contingent upon contract award

The Configuration Management / Data Management (CMDM) Lead will oversee configuration and data management for mission-critical NORAD and USSPACECOM systems, ensuring technical baseline integrity, disciplined change control, and  accurate engineering documentation across the Cheyenne Mountain Complex enterprise. This role partners closely with engineering, software, cybersecurity,  logistics , sustainment, and operations teams to  maintain system readiness while enabling modernization in a complex classified environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead all CMDM activities across the system lifecycle.
• Develop and  maintain the program CMP, DMP, and associated processes.
• Establish and manage hardware, software, infrastructure, and documentation baselines.
• Lead CCBs, ERBs, and engineering change management.
• Oversee configuration identification, change control, status accounting, audits, and baseline reconciliation.
• Maintain authoritative engineering documentation, ICDs, drawings, procedures, and technical manuals.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support modernization and change implementation.
• Manage software/hardware release activities and configuration repositories.
• Produce CMDM metrics, reports, and executive briefings.
• Lead FCAs, PCAs, and data quality assessments.
• Support contract transition, baseline migration, and knowledge transfer.
• Identify configuration risks and drive continuous improvement, tool integration, and automation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance required; ability to upgrade to obtain SCI access  required .
• Bachelors and minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience , OR Masters and 6+, PhD with 3 . However,  additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. 
• Proven leadership of CM/DM organizations supporting large operational or sustainment programs.
• Experience developing CMPs/DMPs, leading CCBs/ERBs, and managing baselines.
• Experience supporting software releases, engineering changes, and modernization efforts.
• Strong understanding of configuration identification, status accounting, and audits .
• Experienc e managing controlled engineering documentation and repositories.
• Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration.

Desired Qualifications

• CMII or equivalent CM certification.
• Experience with NISSC, ITW/AA, NORAD, USNORTHCOM, USSPACECOM, or CMC missions.
• Background in strategic warning, missile warning, space ops, C2, ISR, or other mission-critical systems.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, GitLab, DOORS, Remedy, Windchill, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps , Digital Engineering, MBSE.
• Experience with audit readiness, ISO 9001, CMMI, mission assurance.
• Experience with contract transitions or enterprise modernization.
• Background with RMF, NIST, DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
• Experience operating in TS/SCI 24×7 sustainment en vironments.

Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
