Athletic Trainer

David Physical Therapy – Pittsburgh, PA
Locations: Mt. Lebanon & Southpointe

David Physical Therapy is a family-owned and operated outpatient physical therapy practice that has been serving the Pittsburgh community for more than 30 years. We are looking to add an Athletic Trainer to our team at our Mt. Lebanon and Southpointe locations .

This position is ideal for an Athletic Trainer who enjoys working directly with patients in an active, team-oriented rehabilitation environment. The Athletic Trainer will work under appropriate supervision and alongside our licensed Physical Therapists to help patients safely perform prescribed exercise programs and progress toward their rehabilitation goals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide patients through therapeutic exercise programs as prescribed by the treating Physical Therapist
• Provide instruction and feedback on proper exercise technique and form
• Assist patients with strengthening, mobility, balance, coordination, and functional exercise programs within the Athletic Trainer's permitted scope
• Monitor patients during exercise and communicate their response and progress to the treating Physical Therapist
• Help motivate and educate patients throughout their rehabilitation
• Prepare and organize exercise equipment and treatment areas
• Communicate closely with the Physical Therapist regarding patient performance, concerns, or changes
• Help maintain a safe, organized, efficient, and welcoming clinical environment
• Work collaboratively with Physical Therapists and other members of the David Physical Therapy team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training from an accredited program
• BOC certification
• Current or eligible for Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer licensure
• Strong understanding of therapeutic exercise, anatomy, biomechanics, and injury rehabilitation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable, professional, energetic, and team-oriented
• Comfortable working with patients of varying ages and activity levels
• Previous orthopedic or rehabilitation experience is a plus, but not required
• New graduates are encouraged to apply
