What You Will Do As part of the PPC Information Technology & Services team, we support PGIM Private Capital with both vendor and internally designed applications, processes and reporting. We are looking for an astute, determined professional like you to fulfill a Lead Data Engineer role on this team. You will showcase your success through collaboration, ownership and innovation. Your knowledge in emerging trends and practices will evoke stimulating discussions around optimization and change to help keep our competitive edge. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing our data pipelines, architectures, and data sets. You will work closely with our team of business analysts and data engineers to ensure that our data solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. What You Can Expect Lead and mentor data engineers and data modelers on the team. Collaborate strategically with business partner to gather requirements and provide data-driven insights and solutions. Implement and maintain data engineering best practices for stability and scalability. Develop and implement a production support plan that conveys urgency and trust. Design, implement, and optimize highly scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines with Azure Data Factory, Dataflow Gen2, and other services in Fabric. Architect and maintain data models and lakehouses using Data Vault 2.0 and Medallion architectures. Develop semantic models and reports using Power BI. Act as responsible data stewards to ensure data integrity, compliance, and trust. What You Will Bring Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Previous experience leading data engineers. Strong proficiency with Azure cloud services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Databricks. Experience with SQL and common data science toolkits. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Scala. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic and agile environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.) is a plus. What You Will Do (DCS) PGIM DC Solutions is a new business within PGIM that is focused on elevating the brand and product capabilities with Defined Contribution clients. PGIM is a Top 10 DC Asset Manager and continuing to build our presence with large Defined Contribution Plan Sponsor and Consultants. The DCS product, which has applied for patent protection, is an exciting opportunity to build an innovative consumer product, with high-velocity features and the technology to support those goals. What You Can Expect (DCS) Core Functional Responsibilities Hands-on production full-stack implementation for the DCS business. Implement DCS architecture to provide new features and services to a consumer client base. Work collaboratively with other technologists, QA and product management to build software solutions. What You Will Bring (DCS) BS in Computer Science/Engineering, Finance or Mathematics/Statistics required Minimum 7 years of experience full stack development in financial services Strong programming skills in Python or C++ and some PostgreSQL; enthusiasm for learning and implementing high performance new technologies Solid numerical programming abilities Skill with git source control systems Experience working within an agile development framework, including creating/reviewing stories, sprints, product grooming, etc. Curious, excited to learn, experiment and innovate What Will Set You Apart (DCS) Knowledge of financial planning and software a plus Knowledge of or experience with a variety of asset classes is desirable, including equity, bonds and annuities Defined Contribution / Retirement industry knowledge and experience Experience building and orchestrating containers and microservices, preferably on AWS. Note Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $150,000 to $190,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits.
