Residential Landscape Designer

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture and Design, or Horticulture with a Design Certificate from an accredited university. **
  • Has intern or real world job experience working as a landscape designer in the landscape industry. **
  • Has a valid driver's license and can maintain a good driving record **
  • Demonstrates essential knowledge of horticulture and landscape sales practices (e.g., turf, shrubs, ground cover, plants, weeds, pests, landscape design), with a proven track record; **
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of native plant material used most commonly in our area to include trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals; **
  • Can prepare estimates for enhancements, routine maintenance programs to existing clientele of Summit Lawn, and understands related contracts;
  • Routinely call, text, and email existing clients of Summit to maintain the company/client relationship;
  • Works with the landscape design team within all areas of estimating, design, and sales;
  • Demonstrate and perform landscaping maintenance and installation functions; 
  • Follow-up with all newly completed landscaping customers, ensure they are satisfied with the product, as well as propose new ongoing maintenance services;
  • Notifies clients of services in advance of the service being performed, follow up upon completion;
  • Meets crews on site to ensure the scope of work is being fully executed upon;
  • Performs routine site audits and conducts property checks to maintain quality standards;
  • Assist with training of crews on the various services provided;
  • Assists with job specific purchasing and materials procurement when needed;
  • Ensures all work meets company quality standards;
  • Demonstrates leadership, initiative, and accountability at all times;
  • Is results oriented in all aspects of performance;
  • Operates landscape hand tools and light equipment efficiently and safely;
  • Provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and company staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Assist with snow and ice services during the snow season;
**These are required skills for this position - candidates without landscape industry and horticulture experience or without a valid driver's license will not be considered for this position.
