Take all measures necessary to ensure that the appropriate and involved parties have communicated necessary information in order to allow for the best possible patient outcome + Demonstrates working knowledge of RIS, PACS, and other computer software programs as assigned + Demonstrates proper technique with magnetic resonance imaging equipment and scanning protocols when doing examinations for patients of all ages + Participates in department/hospital meetings, activities per department guidelines + Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards + Participates in the training of Radiology Students ensuring completion of competency checks + Review patients orders and request with radiologist to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained + Contributes to the efficient operation of the department ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care + Responsible for taking MRI call + Maintains up to date safety and compliance knowledge specific to MRI + Understands and complies with all MRI safety regulations + Will rotate to off-site locations* Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*** Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical and technical personnel.* Ability to deal efficiently and courteously with all hospital personnel.* Competent with Magnetic Resonance Imaging, department information system and PACS.* Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.**Professional Experience*** 1 year MRI scanning experience preferred or 1 year experience in scanning cross sectional anatomy preferred.**Education*** High School graduate or equivalent**Licensure, Certification, Registration*** Advanced certification from an accredited certifying body such as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certificate required.* Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), in accordance with the American Heart Association required.* Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.
