Program CoordinatorThe Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of Club programs that support our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship. The Program Coordinator also provides leadership and supervision to assigned programs and volunteers; manages budgets and controls expenses as assigned.ResponsibilitiesAbility to support the BGCD mission, vision and youth development philosophy in a manner that resonates with staff, Club members, volunteers and partners through leadershipProvide and ensure the delivery of programs reflecting the Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Character and Good CitizenshipContinually evaluate programs to assess their impact on Club members. Provide guidance to other staff members relative to impact.Assist in facilitation of programs; ensure that necessary supplies are in place to implement daily programs for Program Leaders,Increase visibility of Club programs by posting daily schedule, announcing upcoming events and disseminating timely program information to caregivers, schools and other community agencies.Oversee implementation of measurement tools, including AIMS Web, Trauma Informed Care, and Youth Program Quality Intervention.Oversee recruitment, training, and supervision of all volunteers.Oversee proper record-keeping procedures as required for timely reportingEnsure productive and effective performance by all volunteers to ensure coordination of programming and integration of the BGCD program model.Provide ongoing feedback and regular appraisal to volunteers, ensuring adherence to Club policies.Process volunteer applications and maintain databaseServe as acting Director of Operations in her/his absence.Willingness and ability to become a certified YPQI external assessor.Responsible for the training and implementation of the YPQI method (training provided)Establish and maintain positive relationships with Club members that are conducive to their growth and development.Assist Director of Operations with establishing and maintaining Average Daily Attendance goalsDevelop strong community partnerships to enhance programming and community awareness.Conduct a needs assessment with program staff to determine volunteer needsCoordinate and or support special programs and/or events (Awards Night, Youth of the Year, etc.).Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.Maintain close contact with Club staff and volunteers to provide the best possible program delivery.Maintain close contact with community agencies and schools to enhance program awareness and participation.Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentWe maintain a 15:1 member to staff ratio. Activities are varied and require active engagement during educational and recreational programming, which may include extended periods of walking and standing. Activities will be varied due to working with youth and could require running and extended periods of standing and walking. Maximum unassisted lift = 50 lbs. Average lift less than 25 lbs. Requires ability to use computer, various standard and specialized software and database systems, keyboard, calculator and typical office machines. Requires travel to other Clubs and community agencies for meetings and training events.QualificationsInside average office environment. Average office noise levels. No personal protective equipment required. Ambient temperature is between 68 and 76 degrees Fahrenheit. May be required to perform duties outside of the office environment, such as in gym space, cafeteria space or outside with exposure to sunlight, dirt, wind and varying temperatures of 35 degrees to 98 degrees Fahrenheit.Skills/Knowledge RequiredBachelor's Degree preferredKnowledge of Trauma Informed Care practices preferredDemonstrated ability to work effectively with young people in a positive mannerStrong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to lead program staff. Prior experience a plus.Strong time management and project prioritization skillsExperience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning, and supervising programs based on the developmental needs of young people.CPR, First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention certification required (training provided).DisclaimerThe information presented indicates the general nature and level of work expected in this classification.
