Responsibilities The Medical Support Assistant shall perform receptionist functions in support of Veterans Health Administration, including but not limited to: * Screens and receives phone calls in a courteous and timely manner * Responds to telephone inquiries regarding delivery of services * Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, pre- and post- appointment contacts as required * Receive medical records and ensure all necessary health and administrative information are processed into the proper Records Systems * Coordinates and authorizes care with external community care providers * Access computers to utilize Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel, and various electronic systems * Process community care consults in associated electronic systems * Effectively communicates with internal and external medical providers, reception staff, patients, and other third parties * Provide friendly and quality customer service to all patients, patient families, office and medical staff * Various front desk administrative duties, as needed Qualifications & Physical Requirements Education & Experience * High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent * Knowledge of basic medical terminology * Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience * Ability to type 50 WPM * Possess basic computer skills * Oral and written proficiency in English Security Requirements * Must be able to obtain a Public Trust/Suitability Clearance * Must be a United States citizen Pay Range: $17.00 - $18.00 Hourly At Sciolex Corporation, our top priorities and most valuable resources are our employees, which is why we offer a competitive total compensation package.
