Job Details:

• Cover emergency department shifts with no call required

• Shift times at Main ED: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 5:00 PM - 3:00 AM, and 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM
\n
\n
• Shift times at FSED: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
\n
\n
• Coverage includes on-site, weekends, and nights
\n
\n
• Approximately 30 ED treatment spaces at main facility
\n
\n
• Patient census of approximately 115 patients per day at main ED and 70 patients per day at FSED
\n
\n
• 25% admission rate at main ED and 5% at FSED
\n
\n
• Level 3 trauma center with moderate to high acuity and complex pathology
\n
\n
• Urban, middle-class patient population
\n
\n
• Physicians do not see low acuity patients at Main ED
\n
\n
• All specialties consistent with a Level 3 trauma center are available, including OB, in-house intensivist, and hospitalist services
\n
\n
• Common procedures include intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion, conscious sedation, fracture reduction, and laceration repair
\n
\n
• Support staff includes adequate nurses, techs, paramedics, and security
\n
\n
• 4 physicians per day at Main ED and 2 physicians per day at FSED, with 2 APPs per day at all sites
\n
\n
• ABEM certification required
\n
\n
• 2 full shadow shifts required for orientation, or 1 shadow shift if candidate has previous Meditech experience
\n
\n
\n
