Assistant Custodian

Part time 3 positions are available. The hours are 1-5 pm - Primarily Capron, but able to move where needed 5-9 pm - Primarily Poplar Grove, but able to move where needed 5-9 pm - Primarily Middle School, but able to move where needed

Duties:

• Provides cleaning and sanitary maintenance for classrooms, corridors, washrooms and other building areas as directed.
• Keeps surrounding building areas free from rubbish and debris.
• Cleans and replaces burned out lamps as directed.
• Shovels and operates mechanical snow removal equipment as required and directed by Head Custodian.
• Moves furniture and sets up equipment as necessary for events.
• Uses equipment, chemicals and equipment as directed.
• Follows guidelines for cleaning as established by Director of Facilities.
• Reports any areas of major repair to the Head Custodian/Night Supervisor.
• Reports damage to school property immediately to the building principal or Head Custodian.
• Accomplishes minor repairs and assists other personnel as directed.
• Opens doors and provides security as directed.
• Complies with all District policies, regulations and procedures as established by the Board of Education.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary: Based on NBESS Contract Starting wage for 2025-2026 $18.03 per hour

There are no benefits for part-time

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma preferred
• Positive and supportive attitude toward District philosophy and goals
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for the assigned responsibilities
• Self-motivating
• Ability to move and lift objects at least fifty pounds
• Valid driver's license
