A confidential, boutique litigation practice in New York is seeking an experienced commercial litigation attorney at the partner level (or an established partner-led team) to help expand a defense-side corporate disputes platform. This opportunity is well suited to an entrepreneurial litigator who enjoys hands-on case leadership, direct client engagement, and building a sustainable practice within a collaborative boutique environment .

THE ROLE

- Lead and manage defense-side commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution

- Drive litigation strategy, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery plans, and case budgeting

- Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and handle hearings and other court appearances

- Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions

- Manage client relationships, provide practical counseling, and oversee matter staffing and execution

- Support business development efforts and collaborate with other partners on cross-sold dispute work

Hybrid, in office 3 days per week

REQUIREMENTS

- 7+ years of litigation experience, with a strong concentration in commercial litigation

- Portable book of business (critical requirement)

- Active New York bar admission

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

- Strong legal writing and advocacy skills, including substantial motion practice experience

- Ability to operate effectively in a self-sustaining, entrepreneurial environment

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

- Employment litigation experience

- Background from BigLaw or other top-tier firm environments

- Federal clerkship or similar strong litigation pedigree

- Strong academic credentials
