LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client in Detroit, MI in their search for an experienced Staff Accountant . This is a hybrid, contract-to-hire opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate and paid parking .

We are seeking an accounting professional with strong attention to detail, solid general accounting experience, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced accounting and finance team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
• Complete balance sheet and bank account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation
• Research and resolve account discrepancies
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
• Assist with audit requests and financial reporting
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
• Collaborate with accounting and finance team members on special projects and reporting needs

Qualifications

• Previous Staff Accountant or general accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, but not required
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines

Pay Details: $34.00 to $39.00 per hour
