Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

Provide specialized labor and delivery nursing care in a teaching hospital setting, ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and newborns during high-risk antepartum and labor stages. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient education and clinical needs.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer direct patient care in high-risk antepartum and labor and delivery units.
  
  
• 
  Monitor fetal and maternal vital signs, and respond to emergencies promptly.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families about labor, postpartum care, and newborn care.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.
  
  
• 
  Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control policies.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess at least 2 years of labor and delivery RN experience, with high-risk antepartum expertise.
  
  
• 
  Hold valid California RN license; active at time of submission.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate experience in teaching hospital environments.
  
  
• 
  Have reliable references from within the past year, preferably supervisor-level.
  
  
• 
  Be willing to work day shifts, including every other weekend and rotating through various roles in the L&D specialty.
