Director, Enterprise SAP Business Systems

The Director, Enterprise SAP & Business Systems leads a consolidated department within Aerospace’s Enterprise Information Services (EIS) organization that is responsible for the systems supporting core HR, Payroll, Finance, Supply Chain, and Procurement business processes. These processes are primarily enabled by SAP, SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, and Workday, and include core HR data management, recruiting, compensation, performance management, time collection, payroll, Source to Pay, contingent workforce management, Order to Cash, Cost Management, and Budget to Report.

This role provides operational leadership for the integrated ERP, procurement, and contingent workforce landscape, with a strong focus on business process design, governance, and continuous improvement. The Director partners closely with HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and the Office of the CFO to define evolving business needs, shape the ERP and source‑to‑pay strategy and roadmap, and ensure that solutions are business‑aligned, user‑centric, and compliant. The Director is accountable for the functional effectiveness of these processes and systems, ensuring that configuration and technical changes are aligned to standardized business practices and implemented rigorously in accordance with corporate policies and audit requirements.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in El Segundo.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and manage an integrated department of professionals focused on the functional design, governance, and support of HR/Payroll, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and contingent workforce processes enabled by SAP, SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, and Workday.
• Direct and supervise staff in the performance of their duties, ensuring excellent service to business customers in HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and IT, with an emphasis on process quality and user experience.
• Conduct hires, performance reviews; recommend and implement performance improvements, career development plans, and promotional actions; recommend staffing needs, reassignments, transfers, and terminations as appropriate.
• Execute and maintain the ERP, source‑to‑pay, and contingent workforce business process strategy and roadmap in partnership with HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, the Office of the CFO, and other EIS leadership, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and functional best practices.
• Lead efforts to standardize and optimize end‑to‑end business processes (e.g., Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Cost Management, Budget to Report, HR lifecycle, payroll, and contingent workforce management) across the enterprise.
• Work with business analysts and subject matter experts to elicit, refine, and prioritize business requirements for process changes and enhancements; ensure that solution designs are driven by functional needs, controls, and compliance requirements.
• Oversee functional governance for SAP, SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, and Workday, including change management, process documentation, and alignment of configuration decisions to enterprise standards.
• Collaborate with SAP technical teams to ensure integrations and data flows between SAP ERP, SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, Workday, and other enterprise systems support coherent, efficient, and well‑controlled business processes.
• Provide functional leadership for projects and initiatives, including system implementations, upgrades, and process improvement efforts; ensure business readiness, training, and adoption plans are in place and effective.
• Manage the department budget, ensuring staff have adequate tools and resources; oversee contractor and consultant support for functional design, process optimization, and change management activities.
• Ensure proper business process controls, standards, and procedures are documented, enforced, and periodically reviewed; ensure that changes are implemented using rigorous, auditable processes, with the expectation of periodic internal and external audits.
• Support compliance with procurement, contingent workforce, financial, and HR regulations and internal policies through appropriate business process design and system control frameworks.
• Coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives across HR/Payroll, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and contingent workforce domains to align with corporate priorities, timelines, and resource constraints.
• Work closely with customers to identify how EIS‑provided business systems and services can enable the corporation to meet its objectives more effectively and efficiently, focusing on process efficiency, data quality, and user experience.
• Provide customer support through schedules, status reports, briefings, presentations, and training; coordinate communication about EIS services, business process changes, and major initiatives to leadership, peers, customers, and other stakeholders.

What You Need to be Successful – Director, Enterprise SAP & Business Systems

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, business, or an equivalent field of study.
• 10 or more years of relevant experience with ERP and enterprise procurement/contingent workforce solutions, with significant responsibility for business process design, governance, and functional leadership.
• 3 or more years of leadership and management experience successfully directing a team of staff to meet assigned responsibilities.
• Knowledge of and experience with HR and Payroll business processes and Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and contingent workforce business processes (e.g., Procure to Pay, supplier management, external workforce, Order to Cash, Cost Management, Budget to Report).
• Demonstrated ability to assess customer and corporate business needs and successfully devise and execute functional strategies and plans that leverage ERP and related systems.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of customers and corporate staff.
• This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

• Experience leading functional teams responsible for SAP ERP, SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, and Workday (including Procure to Pay, supplier collaboration, external workforce, HR, and payroll processes).
• Previous experience working with ADP payroll systems and integrations.
• Experience with Agile processes and work management practices in the context of business process and ERP change delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple cross‑functional initiatives and projects concurrently.
• Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with internal and external organizations, including suppliers, implementation partners, and business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs and priorities.
• Experience managing budgets and external vendor/consultant relationships for business systems and process improvement initiatives.
