Clinical Nurse Coordinator Clinical Decision Unit

Job Summary As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator Clinical Decision Unit, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn – whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. Responsibilities Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver high quality, patient‑centered care. Reflects core values when interacting with co‑workers, patients, family members, and others in the community to foster an environment where employees are engaged and where patient care is unparalleled. Leads in a way that inspires commitment to the vision, mission and values of the organization. Represents the organization positively within the community; participates in company‑supported community/patient events and in‑services. Assists with staff scheduling and manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines. Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment. Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures and regulatory standards. Supports the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System and is committed to helping the system and its affiliated facilities achieve its goals. Meets safety policies and rules, uses appropriate safety equipment, and reports unsafe conditions immediately. Adheres to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by patients, colleagues and the community. Reports activities that appear to violate applicable laws or the Code of Conduct. Completes other duties as assigned. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate or baccalaureate degree in nursing required. BSN preferred. Minimum of 1 year working as a Registered Nurse (RN) required. 3 years of RN experience in a Telemetry unit highly preferred. Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse required; if Compact RN license, must obtain a TX RN license within 90 days of hire.
