Registered Nurse – ICU / Float (12-Hour Days)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across multiple inpatient units including ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, and ED Holding, with ED Holding serving as the primary assignment area
• Manage a diverse patient population including respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, CHF, COPD, post-operative, oncology, and neurological diagnoses
• Perform advanced clinical skills appropriate to unit assignment, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, invasive line management, IV medication titration, chest tube care, tracheostomy care, ostomy care, and PCA management
• Maintain flexibility to float within scope of practice across units for partial shifts as needed, adapting to varying patient ratios (ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, Med-Surg 1:5, Rehab 1:8 team model)
• Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications as required by unit assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
• Minimum 2 years of experience in applicable care setting: ICU, PCU, or acute care Med-Surg
• BLS required for all unit assignments
• ACLS and NIHSS required for ICU and PCU assignments
• Demonstrated telemetry competency (traveler telemetry competency assessment required)
• Strong communication, patient education, and critical thinking skills; must be flexible, resourceful, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with higher-level ICU therapies such as CRRT, hypothermia protocol, or prone positioning
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing
• Prior travel nursing experience with demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new environments
• Experience managing isolation patients and non-ambulatory patient populations
