Talent Acquisition Partner (Campus Recruiting & Intern Program Mgr)

Location : This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and may be assigned to any Consumers Energy Service Center located throughout Michigan's lower Peninsula.  The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify). 

General Summary of Job Responsibilities

The Talent Acquisition Partner (Campus Recruiting & Intern Program Manager) drives the CE culture of excellence by working collaboratively with client groups and People & Culture Partners to achieve key initiatives through the delivery of diverse top talent. The incumbent will attract, source, assess and pre-select proactively the best external talent enabling the business to deliver their strategy. 

Additionally, the Campus Recruiting & Intern Program Manager leads the design and delivery of the Company's university, community college, internship, co-op and early career programs. This role manages relationships with educational institutions, business partners and internal stakeholders to support talent pipeline and workforce development objectives. The Program Manager oversees program planning, recruitment activities, participant experiences, events, communications and program operations to ensure positive candidate experiences and business outcomes. Working closely with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, business leaders and external partners, the role connects early career talent with organizational workforce needs. The position monitors program metrics, participant feedback and market trends to enhance program effectiveness and strengthen Consumers Energy's employer brand and presence within educational and community partner networks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders, intern councils, Talent Acquisition, and HR partners to anticipate workforce needs, establish early career hiring goals, and execute targeted campus and community outreach strategies that build diverse talent pipelines and achieve intern and early career hiring objectives.
• Plan and oversee campus career fairs, information sessions, and interviews.
• Design and lead the intern program, including onboarding, mentorship, projects and support conversion to full-time roles.
• Track hiring metrics, program outcomes and participant feedback to monitor and continuously improve early career recruiting programs.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Intern Councils, ensuring alignment, coordination, communication, and engagement across intern program initiatives.
• Build strong partnerships with college and university career centers, faculty and student groups.
• Provide advice and counsel to business leaders through the selection process ensuring a strong fit between both internal & external candidates and available CMS opportunities. Challenge and influence leaders throughout the process, as appropriate
• Manage the full-cycle recruiting process with exceptional customer service orientation, provide a positive experience for both candidate and hiring manager
• Implement recruiting and hiring practices to provide qualified and diverse candidate pools to functional client groups
• Engage with hiring managers to understand their needs and provide counsel and guidance on hiring practices
• Source, assess and select qualified applicants to be referred as candidates for open searches, including networking and cultivating a talent pipeline
• Conduct in-depth screenings of potential candidates and communicate clear expectations of the recruiting process, including interview and offer close
• Evaluate skill level and complete offer process to include salary recommendations, offer letter generation and offer acceptance
• Participate in/lead talent acquisition projects and share best practices while working in close collaboration with the talent acquisition teams in the context of the transformation road map
• Conduct regular follow-up with hiring manager to determine the effectiveness of recruiting and coach through the hiring process
• Other duties as assigned or may be necessary

Education/Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field with 2 years of experience in a Human resources role
• [OR] Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field with 4 years of experience in a Human resources role
• [OR] High School Diploma with 6 years of experience in a Human resources role
