As a Mobile Technician, you will perform maintenance and repairs on semi-trailers using a mobile service truck, traveling to customer sites to deliver high-quality service and support. Who We’re Looking For GWT is looking for motivated individuals who are: Quick Learners – Eager to learn new skills, follow instructions, and grow. Perform maintenance and repairs on air brake systems, electrical systems, and trailer components. Inspect and repair trailer bodies, chassis, doors, floors, and more. Handle minor mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assemblies, including lift gates. Conduct welding, cutting, and fabrication as needed. Install & Replace Install add-on components such as toolboxes, ramp kits, dunnage racks, and winches. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on new tasks. Quality Checks & Reporting Prepare service reports and documentation. Examine work for defects and ensure high-quality repairs. Follow troubleshooting procedures and communicate concerns or needs. Safety First Follow all safety standards, policies, and regulations. Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipment. Required Qualifications Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no recent DUIs). Valid CDL license and DOT medical card. Reliable transportation. Own a personal set of hand tools (except in California). Broad knowledge of semi-trailer equipment, tools, and systems. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and welding equipment. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 7 years of experience in semi-trailer repairs. ASE or other industry-recognized certifications (welding certification a plus). Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Physical Demands & Work Environment Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, and bending. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Use of forklifts, hand tools, welding equipment, and refrigerated trailers. Specific vision abilities including close, distance, and color vision, with the ability to adjust focus. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, and extreme temperatures. Moderate to loud noise levels; potential risk of electrical shock. Work may be performed in shops, yards, or on customer sites via mobile service trucks.
