RN Wound Care Ostomy - PRN

PRN Wound Care RN Overview Responsible and accountable for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care provided to a select group of patients for wound and ostomy care within the context of the organization’s nursing services. Wound care nurses specialize in the proper management of wounds that are the result of disease, injury, or medical treatments. The role requires providing care that optimally and safely heals various types of wounds, including surgical openings, ulcers, decubitus ulcers, feeding tube sites, and abscesses. Duties include assessing wounds, creating and implementing treatment plans, monitoring infections and signs of infection, cleaning wounds, and evaluating complex wound symptoms. Wound care nurses also educate other healthcare members on proper wound care practices. Education & Licensure Education: Graduated from a school of nursing Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
