Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities within a manufacturing environment. This position oversees maintenance personnel, ensures equipment reliability, supports production goals, and promotes a safe, efficient, and well-organized work environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise, direct, and support maintenance technicians and other maintenance personnel. Coordinate daily maintenance activities and prioritize work based on production needs and equipment conditions. Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment issues. Provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians and assist with complex equipment repairs. Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and productivity. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, downtime, parts usage, and equipment history. Coordinate planned maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment installations. Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to address equipment and process issues. Assist with developing maintenance procedures, PM schedules, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure maintenance work is performed safely and in accordance with established procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies. Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, motors, drives, controls, and automated systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation. Support installation, modification, and commissioning of new or upgraded manufacturing equipment. Track maintenance metrics and use downtime and repair data to identify recurring problems and improvement opportunities. Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action efforts for recurring equipment failures. Train, coach, and develop maintenance employees while promoting accountability and teamwork. Ensure maintenance activities meet applicable safety, quality, and operational standards. Assist with budgeting, contractor coordination, and maintenance planning as needed.
