Job Details Position: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown Location: Columbus, OH Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Job Start Date: 10/19/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week Shift Duration: 12-hour nights Shift Schedule: Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040 Orientation: 24 hours Float: May float within the organization if needed Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics Job Requirements Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required Experience in stepdown nursing , progressive care , or telemetry strongly preferred Ability to pass a telemetry competency test Experience monitoring telemetry patients and recognizing dysrhythmias Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Active compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of submission Epic EMR experience required Strong clinical background with cardiac monitoring and patient assessment skills Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program Professional references required Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate care for patients in a cardiac stepdown and progressive care setting Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient condition Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including insulin and heparin protocols as appropriate Care for post-surgical and medical overflow patients with varied acuity levels Perform focused assessments, reassessments, and documentation in the Epic EMR Collaborate with physicians, rapid response teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary healthcare professionals Support wound care, drain management, line care, and other stepdown nursing interventions Maintain strong patient safety practices and respond effectively to urgent clinical changes If you are an adaptable Registered Nurse who thrives in a high-acuity environment and wants to grow your cardiac stepdown nursing experience, apply now for this travel nursing opportunity in Columbus, Ohio.
