Position Overview Salary range: $76,700–$97,600 for 100% position; $36.744–$46.75 for 50% position. Position Description The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology invites applications for an academic position at 50‑100% appointment in the Assistant Project Scientist series. Candidates will help lead studies on the role of structural and scaffolding proteins in organizing postsynaptic functions, including structural analysis, modeling, and functional tests with advanced microscopy techniques. Key duties include experimental procedures of protein expression and purification, structural analysis by cryo‑EM and spectroscopic techniques, advanced microscopy, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, grant writing, and maintaining laboratory regulatory and safety standards. Responsibilities Design and conduct research projects on structural proteins and postsynaptic functions; develop new ideas and methods. Supervise students and technicians in technical aspects of research. Publish results in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences. Assist in grant proposal writing and reporting; maintain compliance with animal protocols and safety regulations. Engage in professional societies, review panels, and public outreach. Supervise graduate and undergraduate research students. Qualifications PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, Physiology, or a related field. At least 10 years of research experience in structural analysis of protein complexes and related signaling. Expertise in designing and planning research projects with experience in grant and paper writing. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
