RN Cardiac Telemetry

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide specialized nursing care on the 4 South Cardiac/Telemetry unit and occasionally float to various Medical-Surgical units including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Respiratory, Observation, and ED/Med-Surg boarders. The RN is responsible for patient assessments, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. The role requires proficiency in Epic EMR and strong telemetry reading skills to ensure high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment. Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled nursing care on the Cardiac/Telemetry unit and float to other Med-Surg units as needed.
  • Perform continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpret telemetry data accurately.
  • Conduct patient assessments and administer medications according to care plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient treatment plans.
  • Document patient care and clinical data accurately in the Epic EMR system.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Participate in patient education and discharge planning as appropriate.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Ohio.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent telemetry and/or stepdown nursing experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Proficiency in Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret cardiac telemetry data.
  • Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience working in various Med-Surgical specialties such as Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Respiratory, and Emergency Department settings.
  • Previous experience with stepdown or critical care patient populations.
Special Considerations:
  • Every other weekend work is required.
  • No on-call or call-back requirements.
  • Must pass telemetry competency evaluation on day one or risk termination.
  • Epic EMR proficiency is mandatory; refresher training or 1:1 shadowing is not provided.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced hospital environment with multiple patient care areas.
Scheduling:
  • 36 hours per week, primarily day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
  • Shift assignments primarily on the 4 South Cardiac unit with occasional float to other Med-Surg units.
  • Start date limited to October 19, 2026, unless the RN is a returning traveler within the last 9 months.
