Senior Logistics Coordinator - Expedite

The Senior Logistics Coordinator - Expedite provides customer service to both internal and external customers, which includes: taking customer orders, giving pricing information, performing consultative sales to customers, explaining services and benefits to customers to assist with procurement of capacity, monitoring service on all requests and shipments, and generating business leads for our sales organization. This position anticipates customer needs, suggest alternatives, and solve problems by resolving customer issues competently and appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Understand unique freight handling characteristics and delivery requirements to allow contractors to operate in a safety-oriented environment.
• Identify customer needs and facilitate communication with owner operators or outside agents to provide the most cost-effective means of shipment execution.
• Assist contractors in obtaining shipment critical information (directions, pick up numbers, tow-related services, etc.) via phone and email communication.
• Monitor shipments from order entry through delivery to ensure on time performance is met.
• Provide a high level of accuracy in order documentation.
• Other duties and projects, as assigned.
• Assist with the development of Logistics Coordinators I-III Peers.
• Order creation, load procurement, negotiation, freight tendering, and problem resolution.
• Update customers regarding shipments as required via phone, email, and web-based channels.
• Identify and communicate business opportunities into the sales organization (through the Sales Support department).
• Provide prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service to all internal and external customers.
• Support new and existing customer accounts to foster business development.
• Suggest improvements to business processes and procedures when applicable to benefit the corporate goals as well as key stakeholders.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree, preferred

Experience: 2 years experience as a Logistics Coordinator III, preferred

Demonstrated ability to achieve consistently at least 80% of goal as a Logistics Coordinator III.

Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, required

Additional Requirements: Assist with the development of peers in current role. Proven ability to make role appropriate decisions to support the lifecycle of a shipment or customer experience.

Other Details

Work Hours: Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload. Work hours vary based on scheduling. Business volumes dictate staffing on a 24/7/365 basis.

Travel Requirements: Minimal (0%-25%)

Compensation: This is an hourly position paid biweekly. Variable compensation is included.
