Job Overview

Bounteous is seeking a Marketing Technology Consultant to help clients unlock the value of their marketing technology ecosystems and activate data-driven customer experiences. In this role, you will serve as a strategic consultant helping organizations translate business and marketing objectives into executable activation strategies across Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) and marketing automation or journey orchestration platforms (MAPs).

This position sits within our Technology team and works closely with Solution Architects, Data Engineers, Marketing Strategists, and digital marketing specialists to help organizations turn customer insights into personalized, cross-channel experiences. The consultant leads discovery efforts, supports activation strategies, and partners with business and technical teams to design solutions that deliver measurable marketing outcomes.

Marketing Technology Consultants serve as the activation subject matter expert within Martech implementations, ensuring that marketing use cases are translated into scalable audience definitions, journey logic, and platform requirements.

The ideal candidate has a strong consulting mindset, a passion for marketing technology, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for both clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the day-to-day marketing technology consultant for clients, advising on Customer Data Platform (CDP) and marketing automation capabilities, activation strategies, and platform best practices.
• Participate in AJO Pilot design/architecture discussions to introduce CDP concepts and ensure alignment with clients future RT-CDP direction.
• Review Pilot decisions (data model, identity approach, integration patterns) for compatibility with the client's RT-CDP roadmap.
• Lead discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and requirements gathering to identify opportunities for marketing use cases and customer experience activation.
• Translate marketing and business requirements into clear technical and functional requirements for identity resolution, data governance, data ingestion, audience segmentation, journey flows, and channel activation in partnership with Solution Architects and engineering teams.
• Define and document activation strategies, including audience segmentation, eligibility rules, triggers, and cross-channel orchestration across platforms such as paid media, email, web personalization, and marketing automation systems.
• Partner with strategy and product teams to prioritize activation-focused use cases that support segmentation, personalization, and cross-channel customer engagement.
• Collaborate with project management and delivery teams to coordinate timelines, manage dependencies, and support multiple concurrent Martech initiatives.
• Provide hands-on guidance and enablement to client teams, helping them operationalize CDP and MAP capabilities and maximize value from their marketing technology investments.
• Draft CDP-related sections of the SRD and an early, directional Solution Design Document (SDD).

• Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience working with marketing technology platforms in an agency, consulting, or enterprise environment.
• 3+ Experience working with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) such as Adobe Real-Time CDP, Segment, Salesforce Data Cloud, Tealium, or similar.
• 3+ Experience with marketing automation or journey orchestration platforms, such as Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Campaign, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, or similar.
• Strong understanding of audience segmentation, cross-channel campaign execution, and customer journey orchestration.
• Familiarity with all Adobe applications is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with customer data management concepts, including identity resolution, data modeling, and marketing data flows.
• Experience working in client-facing consulting or agency environments preferred.
