Job Title: Extruder Operator

Reports To: Plant Supervision

Extrusion Line Operators run the extrusion lines to required specifications in order to fulfill PCCA's and the customer's expectations.

Skills

• The ability to read, write and perform basic math skills.

• Be mechanically inclined.

• The ability to operate an extrusion line and the associated pellitizing systems.
• Lifting Requirements will vary: If the task you are performing seems to heavy seek help or use proper lifting equipment such as hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in training probationary temporary employees as required.
• Set up and run extrusion line with little supervision.
• Follow the production specifications.
• Conduct visual check of pellet quality as required.
• If problem observed, notify appropriate supervision, maintenance or lab personnel.
• Ensure the proper material and mixture is used.
• Make necessary changes if color drift occurs and consult supervision or the Lab immediately.
• Present material samples to the Lab as required.
• Assist maintenance personnel as required.
• Keep work area clean at all times.
• Follow all safety and conduct rules and report any accident.
• Wear appropriate PPE while in the production area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the shift. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach and perform repetitive movements. Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 - 100 lbs. as needed.
