Store Manager

Role Overview Responsible for managing store operations, staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to ensure efficient daily functioning. Key Responsibilities Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees while ensuring proper staffing levels. Provide employee training, conduct performance reviews, and address performance or conduct issues. Make recommendations on pay rates and advancement opportunities. Maintain effective communication regarding performance, safety, and store policies. Oversee store opening and closing, ensuring proper staffing and procedures. Analyze operating statements to identify trends, control expenses, and manage inventory. Order merchandise to meet or exceed stock targets, review seasonal plans, and manage inventory accuracy. Ensure merchandise presentation aligns with company standards, utilizing fixtures, signage, and pricing. Maintain inventory integrity, control damages, markdowns, and ensure cash and security procedures are followed. Lead customer service efforts and maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment. Comply with company policies and complete necessary documentation accurately and timely. Qualifications & Skills Ability to interpret safety and operating documents, perform mathematical calculations, and handle cash procedures. Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, and security practices. Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Experience in recruiting, hiring, and managing staff with legal compliance awareness. Bilingual skills may be preferred at some locations. Experience & Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred; management experience in retail advantageous. Physical & Working Conditions Frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 40-55 pounds, bending, stooping, and occasional ladder use.
