Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Neurology

Location

Wilmington, NC

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week | 13–26 week assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Neurology unit with a focus on general medicine and neurological diagnoses
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6, delivering safe, team-oriented care
• Utilize Pyxis for medication administration, EPIC for clinical documentation, and SBAR for communication
• Float to other units as needed; travelers are expected to float first
• Fulfill weekend shift requirements (approximately every other weekend)
• Be available to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state license
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Strong teamwork approach to patient care with a focus on patient safety

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale certification or prior neurology experience
• Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
