Shipping Supervisor (1st Shift) – 6-Month Contract

Location: Paris, KY (Onsite)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Employment Type: 6-Month Contract

We are partnering with a growing organization seeking a Shipping Supervisor for a 6-month contract to support daily warehouse and shipping operations. This role will work closely with warehouse leadership to oversee day-to-day shipping activities, improve operational efficiency, ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, and help lead a high-performing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong distribution or warehouse leadership experience who enjoys a hands-on environment focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily shipping and warehouse operations to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, and prioritizing departmental activities to meet production and customer requirements.
• Participate in shipping operations and provide hands-on support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety policies, quality standards, and operational documentation.
• Maintain site security and oversee safe facility shutdown procedures at the end of each shift.
• Monitor shipping performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and accuracy.
• Create, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and related documentation.
• Investigate operational issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including warehouse layout optimization, process improvements, and Lean practices.
• Develop and implement cross-training programs to improve team flexibility and operational capacity.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and other internal departments to meet customer commitments.
• Monitor team performance and ensure work is completed accurately and in accordance with company standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or shipping operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Experience with domestic and international shipping, including import/export processes.
• Experience operating material handling equipment (forklift or similar equipment preferred).
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer proficiency for scheduling, documentation, and data management.
• Hands-on leadership style with a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (cGMP preferred).
• Background in life sciences, chemical manufacturing, or related industries.
• Experience supporting Lean initiatives, warehouse optimization, or process improvement projects.
• Familiarity with SOPs, CAPAs, change control, and quality documentation.

Must-Have Experience:

• 3–5+ years of warehouse, shipping, or distribution experience
• Experience overseeing daily shipping activities and order fulfillment
• Experience with domestic and international shipping (imports/exports)
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and operational compliance

Strong Preferences:

• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (cGMP)
• Life sciences, chemical manufacturing, or related industry experience
• Lean manufacturing, warehouse optimization, or continuous improvement experience
• Experience with CAPAs, change control, and quality documentation
• Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment
• Strong computer skills for scheduling, documentation, and reporting
• Cross-functional collaboration with production, quality, and operations teams
