Schedule

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • 12-hour rotating shift (2-2-3 schedule)
  • Work pattern: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on (alternating weekly)
  • Includes weekend rotation

Work Environment

Non-temperature controlled warehouse; exposure to seasonal heat and cold.

Job Summary

The Manager of Assembly Operations is responsible for the overall performance of telecom Hut/Infrastructure assembly and integration operations, including production output, quality, safety, and labor efficiency. This role leads supervisors and assembly teams to ensure the installation of shelving, racking, and equipment into telecom cabinets is executed consistently, at scale, and in alignment with engineering specifications and customer requirements.

The Manager owns operational systems, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive productivity, reduce defects, and ensure on-time delivery across assembly operations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Results Ownership

  • Own end-to-end assembly operations for telecom cabinet integration, including production output, schedule adherence, and delivery performance
  • Translate production forecasts into staffing, scheduling, and workflow plans to meet demand
  • Monitor and manage KPIs including throughput, labor efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery
  • Identify risks to production and implement corrective actions to maintain performance

People Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead and develop Assembly Supervisors and their teams; provide coaching, direction, and performance management
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability standards across all levels of the operation
  • Partner with HR on hiring, workforce planning, and employee relations matters
  • Build bench strength through training, cross-skilling, and succession planning

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Design and implement scalable assembly processes, standard work, and workflow optimization
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework, increase efficiency, and improve quality outcomes
  • Partner with engineering to improve build design, manufacturability, and installation efficiency
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Actively identifies and implements improvements to processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency, quality, and business outcomes. Leverages available tools and technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance outcomes.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all assembly work meets engineering specifications, customer requirements, and internal quality standards
  • Partner with Quality teams to address defects, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain audit readiness and adherence to internal and external standards

Safety Leadership

  • Own safety performance across assembly operations; ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership engagement, training, and accountability
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Supply Chain to ensure material availability and minimize production disruptions
  • Partner with team to ensure Infrastructure assemblies availability and minimize production disruptions
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Program Management, and Operations leadership to align production with customer requirements and project timelines
  • Communicate operational performance, risks, and improvement plans to senior leadership

Managerial Responsibility

  • Direct management of Assembly Supervisors
  • Indirect oversight of Assembly Technicians and production staff
  • Responsible for workforce planning, performance management, and organizational effectiveness of the assembly function

  • None

Physical Demands

  • Primarily based in a warehouse or light manufacturing environment
  • Regular presence on the production floor required
  • Frequent walking, standing, and interaction with equipment and assembly processes
  • Occasional lifting (up to 30–50 lbs.) and use of tools as needed for oversight

Skills And Abilities Required

  • Strong understanding of assembly operations, production planning, and workflow optimization
  • Experience with telecom Hut/Infrastructure builds, rack integration, or similar environments preferred
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements
  • Proven ability to lead through others and drive accountability at the supervisor level
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to balance operational execution with longer-term process improvement
  • Effective communication and influence skills across all levels of the organization
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite of tools including Teams

Education And Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 7–10+ years of experience in assembly, manufacturing, or telecom infrastructure environments
  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience managing supervisors or multiple teams
