Mechanic II

Deseret Farms of California is seeking a capable Mechanic to join our farm shop team!

Summary:

The Mechanic II performs routine and intermediate repairs independently, diagnoses common equipment issues, and supports more complex repairs.

Responsibilities:

• Independently perform routine and intermediate maintenance and repairs across systems (engine, hydraulic, electrical, driveline).
• Diagnose common issues and implement effective repair solutions.
• Perform engine tune-ups and component replacements (gas/diesel).
• Assist with major repairs (transmissions, overhauls).
• Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.
• Ensure equipment readiness and safety compliance.
• Complete work orders accurately and on time.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to Mechanic I.
• Must adhere to all safety protocols.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 3+ years of experience. Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair with limited supervision.
• Experience with maintenance systems.
• Valid driver's license.
• First Aid and CPR card.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Position is based on regular farm / ranch schedule of 40-60 hours per week.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and shift work.
