In this role you would be in a position to make a positive difference in the lives of at-risk youth. Read on and learn more about this excited opportunity to join our team of child welfare advocates.ResponsibilitiesProvide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to adolescent youthModel and encourage positive attitudes and behaviorsHelp teach social and independent living life skills, including coping mechanismsEnsure the safety of every youthPrepare healthy meals dailyProvide daily routines and structure in a home environmentHelp youth develop healthy relationships with family and friendsPerform and supervise household choresSupervise and assist with homework and school activitiesAssist youth in achieving their program plan and permanency goalsPlan and supervise social events and activitiesShop for and organize the supplies needed to manage a household of 8 youth and their caregiversEncourage the spiritual growth of each residentProvide oversight of the cottage, grounds, and equipmentProvide transportation for youth when needed (via company vehicles)Oversee and manage the overall operations of your assigned cottagePosition RequirementsMust be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.Must be able to work as a team member and accept supervision.Must be able to pass a drug test and extensive background checks.Must be physically capable of performing all job duties.Must be able to perform basic housekeeping duties and prepare meals.Must have excellent interpersonal skills with a caring approach.Must be authorized to work in the U.S.Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred.What's in it for you?2 Weeks of Paid trainingMeals provided while on dutyWork ScheduleYou will be called in as-needed, with the potential for working up to 27 hours/week.Salary Information$14.50/hour with a .50/hour pay increase after 90-day probationary period (with a favorable performance evaluation).Why Smoky Mountain Children's Home?For more than 100 years, Smoky Mountain Children's Home has been meeting the needs of at-risk youth.
