Job Title: Research And Development Specialist

Description
- The Product Developer is responsible for developing the product and the process for innovation, renovation, and value improvement projects.
- This position will involve hands on bench work, pilot plant test work, conducting industrial tests in plants, leading industrial product launches, evaluation of analytical measurements, and the management of R&D tasks to ensure stage gate progression.
- The candidate must be able to represent R&D interests to multiple internal cross functional partners and to external partners during all projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop innovation and renovation formulations to deliver on Brand, Product and Consumer Insights, Regulatory, Quality & Food Safety, and Project requirements.
- Independently manages medium to high technical complexity projects according to stage gate needs.
- Act as R&D representative within each project team and ensure project follow up while leveraging the appropriate R&D software tools.
- Partners with Ingredient Suppliers, Co-Mans, and Vendors to provide technical guidance across various product development programs.
- Analyze, design, and execute trials, organize tasting sessions with cross functional teams to influence and draw conclusions and recommendations.
- Participate in the design of consumer tests, organize sample production, and ensure product quality for the consumer test.
- Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing departments to commercialize new products.
- Prepare all specifications related to the development and commercialization of a product line and ensure that all documentation is shared with cross functional partners prior to start up.
- Delivers on top and bottom line grown through, helping identify a pipeline of innovation and productivity projects
- Manage a specific area of expertise within coffee creamers R&D and ensure best practices are shared with the broader R&D organization.
- Network with the global R&D community to share best practices.
Requirements :
- 5-10 yr experience with Bachelors Degree (3 to 5 yr with Masters Degree) in Food Science or related field.
- Strong project management/organization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and mentor staff.
- Proficient in computer skills.
