Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department and Trauma setting, managing up to 88,000 patients per year across acute and subacute areas
• Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio across a 36-bed acute and 54-bed subacute unit, with 6 designated trauma bays
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitors; collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and hospitalist/intensivist teams available on-site
• Perform and maintain competency in sterile field procedures including Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion as assessed through SIMs Lab (pass/fail)
• Care for a diverse patient population including trauma, chest pain, spinal cord, and psychiatric hold patients; pediatric and burn patients are transferred out
• Float as needed to sister facilities within the network, approximately 30 minutes apart; personal vehicle required for travel between campuses

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (ENPC is not accepted in place of PALS)
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment competency exam prior to acceptance; candidates receive two attempts — candidates who do not pass are ineligible for placement for 6 months
• Must comply with facility appearance standards: natural hair color, no facial piercings, and clean-shaven (men) for fit testing
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license required as verification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of Emergency Room experience preferred
• TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) or ATCN certification preferred
• Familiarity with psychiatric hold patient management
• Experience in high-volume trauma environments with complex, multi-diagnosis patient populations
