Lead Technician, Facilities - Universal Kids Resort

Overview JOB SUMMARY: Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of Facilities functions and maintenance efforts across Universal Kids Resort. Provides work direction and leads the daily tasks of Team Member work to support the completion of assigned work orders, preventative maintenance, routine and emergency repairs, and special projects. Leads the team by overseeing shifts, opening and closing procedures, completion of specific work orders, handling daily trouble calls, and completing administrative duties in support of Facilities Management and compliance requirements. Upholds and reinforces Universal policies and procedures, escalating concerns to management as necessary and ensures Team Member safety. Responsibilities Plans and delegates work tasks including but not limited to masonry, tile, pavers, woodwork, scenic paint, crafts, signage, carpet, drywall, furniture, commercial hardware, cubicle partitions, restroom stall doors, painting, roofing, wood decking, framing, door hardware, etc. Delegates work assignments among qualified Team Members and third-party vendors. Communicates performance expectations to ensure proper completion of tasks. Communicates and coordinates with other departments or crafts as needed. Actively reinforces company safety guidelines and programs and reports non-compliance. Monitors Team Member productivity and work habits. Leads the work startup and stoppage and schedules breaks. Monitors care, condition, use and storage of tools, equipment and other UKR property. Maintains material inventories. Monitors compliance with department standards, driving policy, radio usage, and other Universal policies. Ensures proper completion of work orders and documentation, ensuring accurate data entry and standardization daily within Maximo. Ensures proper equipment, tools, and procedures are available for all work performed. Captures written behaviors using the Lead Observation-Report to support Facilities Management documentation and adherence to state requirements. Handles training of new Team Members and coordinates daily training needs. Provides training updates and follows up as necessary to ensure the completion of all proper documentation and adherence to Universal standards and procedures. Communicates resource needs and work plans to leadership for proper maintenance scheduling and support. Performs Technician job duties, as described and as necessary to ensure labor coverage with varying seasonal needs. Maintains and shares job knowledge and assists in developing Team Members. Demonstrates adaptability and the ability to acquire skills in additional disciplines that benefit from their technical expertise, supporting a broader range of operational and project needs. Communicates and coordinates across Technical Services and with Operations teams as needed to ensure a smooth operation and Guest safety. Assists with seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives as directed. Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility Individual Contributor. Must be able to work a flexible and varied schedule based on business demands. Qualifications Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Consistent attendance is a job requirement. Education High School Diploma or GED is required. Experience 3+ years of general carpentry and construction experience is required, experience within a seasonal/regional theme park is a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
