Maintenance Worker II - Facilities
The City of San Marcos is currently hiring for a Maintenance Worker II - Facilities within the Public Works Departments. Skilled trade experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or a related maintenance field is highly desirable.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of manual, skilled, or semi-skilled duties related to the maintenance and repair of City buildings and facilities. Duties may also include support activities associated with public works infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, parks, rights-of-way, drainage systems, traffic signing and striping, and other public improvements.
Maintenance Worker II positions are assigned to various divisions within the Public Works Department:
- Facilities: Maintenance and repair of City buildings and facilities, including painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical systems, hardware, finishes, and other facility-related work.
- Parks: Maintenance and repair of irrigation systems, maintenance and inspection of municipal parks, landscape construction, recreation facilities, rights-of-way, medians, easements, and other public improvements.
- Street Maintenance: Maintenance and repair of City streets and sidewalks, drainage systems, traffic signing and striping, traffic signals, lighting and other public improvements.
