Investment Associate

The firm invests in AI & Autonomy, Cyber Security & Data Networks, Semiconductors & Micro-electronics, Energy Generation & Storage, Advanced Materials & Manufacturing and Defence & Space Systems. The Role The Analyst is a core driver of Ultratech’s investment pipeline , operating in a highly execution-oriented role at the intersection of technology, markets, and capital . Responsibilities span deal sourcing, technical diligence, financial modelling, and investment committee support , with exposure to live transactions from day one. Key Responsibilities Triage inbound deal flow and identify high-potential, category-defining companies for weekly pipeline review Build thesis-driven target lists across priority verticals and conduct targeted outreach Lead introductory founder calls and produce clear, insightful intake summaries Conduct technical and market diligence , including market sizing, competitive landscape mapping, and expert/reference calls Evaluate technology readiness, scalability constraints, and scientific risk in frontier domains Draft sections of Investment Committee (IC) memos , including market, product, and risk analysis Track and analyse portfolio company KPIs , maintaining internal dashboards and performance insights Support preparation of LP reporting materials , including quarterly updates and data room management Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., engineering, physics, computer science, materials science, biotech, or environmental science) or business with strong technical exposure 1-5 years of experience (internships in venture capital, consulting, banking, or deep tech start-ups strongly preferred) Strong analytical, research, and written communication skills Proficiency in Excel , and familiarity with tools like modern data/analytics platforms Demonstrated interest in venture capital, deep tech, or critical infrastructure sectors Ability to operate independently , manage multiple workstreams, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Compensation Competitive and commensurate with experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
