Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Driver is to help meet the needs of customers by delivering and picking up products in a timely, safe and courteous manner.
Responsibilities
- Communicate daily with Colonial team members, drivers and members of the general public; providing assistance where required
- Maintain solid employee relations
- Review current day’s work to ensure all areas have been serviced
- Safely transport products to customer locations in a timely, safe and courteous manner.
- Delivery process including: packing lists, Invoices, COD & Return processing
- Maintain the service and appearance of truck
- Follow delivery/pickup instructions
- Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
- Follow route and time schedule
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate delivery vehicle
- Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints
- Collect payments
- Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
Requirements
- Must hold a valid Commercial Class A Driver’s License.
- Must qualify physically, and obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate, under the requirements of 49 CFR, Section 391 43-49 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Must have a driving record in Good Standing and No DUI/DWI or drug conviction in last 5 years
- Previous CDL Driving experience
- Professional appearance
- Ability to read maps efficiently
- Strong customer service
- Ability to function well as part of a team
- Diligent attention to detail and safety
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Driver's license Class A
- Acceptable DOT drug test history
- Able to handle Cash transactions
Schedule: Tuesday- Saturday
Dispatch Time: between 04:00-07:00.
