The role supports the implementation and enforcement of Senate Bill 40, which expands the scope of the Consumer Fraud Act to include illegal practices by landlords of manufactured home communities. The Attorney General may initiate legal action, including receiverships. Review complaints, conduct interviews, and prepare written reports. Identify and document patterns of unlawful conduct. Coordinate with regulatory and law enforcement agencies. Maintain investigative equipment and software for data analysis and documentation. Collaborate with other units to prepare cases for prosecution. Perform additional duties as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with financial fraud or other business-related investigations. Essential Functions Conduct investigations, including interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and documenting findings. Attend court proceedings and testify when appropriate, providing assistance to Deputy Attorney Generals. Verify claims of alleged or probable violations. Examine records and documents to ascertain relevant information. Identify, gather, collect, evaluate, and preserve evidence. Make judgments after evaluating all facts and recommend appropriate action. Interpret and apply applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies. Prepare comprehensive and timely investigative reports. Testify in criminal or civil courts, before a Grand Jury, or during administrative hearings. May conduct surveillance and undercover investigations. Prepare criminal or civil cases for prosecution. Work independently or in a team to investigate and prosecute complex cases. Maintain professional liaisons with other law enforcement partners. Job Requirements Minimum five years law enforcement experience. Ability to investigate complex and difficult cases independently and as part of a team. Ability to prepare investigative reports for review by a Deputy Attorney General for civil and criminal complaints. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Current or recent POST certification. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, DELJIS, NCIC, and LEISS. Valid driver’s license. Qualification to carry a DOJ‑issued firearm. Willingness to travel and attend training opportunities. Conditions of Hire Employment contingent upon satisfactory background checks. Direct deposit of paychecks is required.
