Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

• 12 months of acute care experience.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a New Mexico license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: HealthTrust Program - San Juan Regional Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - San Juan Regional Medical Center.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Postoperative patient care including ortho/neurosurgical/abdominal surgeries, NG tubes, chest tubes, Foley catheter/TURPs, respiratory issues, diabetic patient care, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, rib fractures, altered mental status, and pain management.

Unit Details: - Surgical Inpatient Unit (3rd floor) RN/charge nurse role. - Ortho/neuro surgery patients along with medical/nephrology as needed. - Uses IV pumps and vital signs monitors. - Adult patients ages 18-100+. - Will see turnaround admits and discharges throughout the shift.

Shift & Scheduling: - At least 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule. - No call.

Floating Requirements: - Medical, Nephrology, and Inpatient Rehab are sister units. May float to Cardiology to take lower-acuity patients or Med/Surg. May also float to Pediatrics to take adult patients only.

7 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver’s license required
