St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital is seeking a Neurology Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Neurology team. The APP will work closely with Neurologists and multidisciplinary staff to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive assessments, neurological examinations, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. Manage acute and chronic neurological conditions under established clinical protocols. Provide inpatient consultations and assist with follow-up care and discharges. Conduct outpatient visits, manage follow-ups, and coordinate ongoing care. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests (EEGs, imaging, labs) as appropriate. Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive measures. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Licensed NP or PA in the state of Illinois Current Illinois RN and APRN license or Physician Assistant license. National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA). Neurology experience preferred (but willing to train motivated candidates with strong internal medicine or critical care background). Current BLS and ACLS certifications required. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
