Description: The Clinical Resource Unit is committed to providing exceptional care through caring relationships with patients, families, the community, and colleagues. Nursing staff in the unit provide specialized medical and nursing care to various inpatient units. Responsibilities include performing all expected duties specific to the scope of service. Nurses implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care is essential for integration with the healthcare team. Initial patient assessments are completed upon admission, leading to the development of an appropriate plan of care. Nurses implement, evaluate, and modify the plan of care based on continuous assessment. Patient and employee safety must be prioritized, and any safety hazards or incidents need to be reported or corrected. Effective communication with colleagues is crucial for resolving issues and providing constructive feedback. Nurses confer with colleagues to expand their knowledge base, identifying their learning needs and taking initiatives to address them. All departmental competencies must be fulfilled. Floating to various inpatient units is expected, along with providing direct nursing care and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members. Assessments, nursing diagnoses, plans, implementation, and evaluation of patient care must be conducted and documented. Nurses act as resources for staff from various units, coordinating care with multidisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient care. Managing care for acute and chronically ill patients is a significant responsibility. Collaboration with patients and families to identify care goals and maintain care plans is essential. Nurses implement necessary interventions, including medication administration and evaluation of effects. Preparation of patients for procedures requires pain management and IV venipuncture. Discharging patients includes providing instructions for safe transitions from the hospital. All care must be documented using Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Team huddles should occur regularly, and attendance is required. Nurses are responsible for delegating tasks while ensuring appropriate follow-up. Basic care responsibilities, including patient comfort and safety measures, must be performed according to standards. Conflict management is essential for maintaining professional communication with team members. Post-operative care for complex surgical patients must be provided effectively. Lastly, maintaining a positive attitude promotes a healthy work environment and aids in patient healing.
