Job Overview A law firm seeks a Tax Controversy Associate in Atlanta. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 7 years of civil tax controversy experience, preferably at a law firm, and will work under the supervision of attorneys across offices. Duties Represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and state tax agencies. Conduct efficient legal research and analysis. Prepare and review draft legal documents related to tax controversy matters. Manage multiple projects and deadlines. Interact daily with clients and manage client relationships. Collaborate with large transactional practices. Requirements 4 to 7 years of civil tax controversy experience. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Excellent time management skills. Strong technical abilities. Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly in the jurisdiction of resident office location. Education Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school. Certifications LL.M. in Taxation is a plus. Skills Ability to break down complex topics and identify practical solutions. Deliver timely and succinct work product.
