Posted on May 6, 2026 Locations Showing 1 location: Jacksonville, FL, USA On-site Travel Required: Yes Field Full-Time Requisition #: CONST001226 Description Construction Managers are Dennis Group’s project site supervisors that oversee the daily operations of the construction activities including coordination of sub‑contractors, site safety programs, project schedule, and project budget. Our projects design and build food and beverage process facilities (industrial / MEP projects). This involves coordination with multiple engineering groups and designers/architects. The construction manager is a skilled communicator, able to interact with all levels of personnel, coordinate and facilitate meetings competently, and possess strong technical skills to function proficiently with multiple types of software programs. The Construction Manager ensures the progression of the project by providing attention and coordination in both field and office construction management tasks. The role functions include contract administration, project planning and scheduling, project reporting, and an advisory role to project management issues and activities. Site Supervisory Responsibilities Daily supervision of construction activities including coordination of subcontractors and site safety programs Oversite/supervision of any assigned field engineers or Jr Construction Managers when directed Responsibilities Works autonomously on overseeing medium‑size projects Works with project management on the development and updating of project scope, budget, and schedule Project accounting, budgeting, and cost management Establishes and maintains site safety procedures with the safety team Oversees process, mechanical and utility equipment installations Permitting, code and regulatory administration and approval Change order and general construction administration Coordination of field engineering Inspection coordination Manages third‑party testing, inspection, and relationships Researches construction management best practices Client‑facing role requiring collaboration with owners, subcontractors, building officials, and A/E team Prepares and administers third‑party agreements Conducts jobsite walks/audits to ensure project progress and subcontractor compliance with plans and schedule Procures project services and equipment (rentals, PPE, etc.) Supports and coordinates facility start‑up Prepares and maintains project reports and logs Works with subcontractors to ensure schedule compliance and determine alternative resources or options Reviews and maintains submittals, RFIs, change orders Works with Project Controllers and Project Manager on supplier invoices and client billing responsibilities Performs engineering calculations Assists in preparing work plans and work packages Assists in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews Manages project punch‑list inspection Promotes continuous and productive communication between project participants, including internal and external clients and partners Coordinates project close‑out activities Handles safety responsibilities in various capacities and capabilities Supports talent growth within the organization Provides coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group when directed by supervisor Other tasks as assigned Required Education, Skills, and Experience Bachelor’s degree in construction science, building science, construction engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred Design‑build experience on industrial projects is strongly preferred Experience overseeing subcontractors and driving the project schedule Client interaction experience with strong technical, organizational, managerial, and communication skills Progressively responsible job‑site experience working on industrial building projects Fundamental understanding of all phases of construction and the ability to read and interpret construction documents, schedules, and budgets Proficiency with AutoCAD is a plus Must meet travel requirement – up to 100% travel to projects throughout the USA and possible Canada Work schedule requirement – work 10 days onsite, 4 days off Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, and prolonged periods standing and walking around a project site with uneven surfaces Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of the jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers Must be on call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times Travel Requirement Projects are located throughout the United States and Canada; this is a site‑based position with a 10‑day on / 4‑day off work schedule. Projects typically last from 6 to 12+ months. Meals and lodging per diems are provided along with reasonable travel provisions. Up to 100% overnight travel is required based on project needs.
