JOB OVERVIEW:

Provide prevention, assessment, and remediation services for students who exhibit difficulties in the areas of language, speech, voice, and fluency

QUALIFICATIONS:

• This position requires a Speech/Language Pathologist (Teaching or Non-Teaching) Endorsement, PreKindergarten-Age 21
• A completed/submitted online application, resumé, and letters of recommendation as required on the online application
• Ability to work as a team member
• Applicants must hold valid Illinois Professional Educator License or other License as required
• Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology and one year ISBE approved supervised internship
• The ability to speak a foreign language is preferred

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and learning standards
• Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning
• Utilize instructional management systems that maximize student learning
• Differentiate instruction and monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals
• Plans and supervises assignments for assistants and volunteers
• Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships
• Meet professional responsibilities as outlined in the Staff Handbook
• Continue to seek professional development opportunities as required by the State for license renewal
• Maintain professional work habits
• Communicate effectively within the educational community
• Maintain your Professional Educator License as required by law
