Copy Editor

Job Description We are currently hiring a Proofreader to proof and edit copy across all products and services. In this role the proofreader will also manage the company’s social media presence, including planning product and service promotions, tracking platform analytics and appropriately interacting with customers and partners online. The ideal candidate will have a background in proofreading or copy editing, communications or journalism with the ability to quickly proof and edit copy against guidelines for tone, style and flow while working within the style of the creative brand. An ideal candidate should be organized, passionate about language (of course) and familiar with digital storytelling, from social posts to videos, to earned activation. Key Responsibilities Ensuring proper grammar and spelling, copy style, accuracy, clarity, readability, appropriate context and consistency for all print catalog copy Performing edits to fine‑tune phrasing so copy flows well and is properly understood by the target audience Applying expert knowledge of proofing marks and procedures to ensure any requested changes are made Conducting pricing verifications, side‑by‑side comparisons and paired reading checks to ensure consistency and accuracy Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 2-3 years of experience at an agency, media or online publishing company A proven track record of working under daily, weekly and monthly deadlines Excellent editing and grammatical skills Ability to spot inconsistencies Knowledge of multimedia storytelling A clear ability to work autonomously, with solid decision‑making skills and the ability to identify concerns and issues An ability to work with MS Word, PowerPoint, etc. Communication skills; can effectively interact with team members Only United States and Canada residents. #J-18808-Ljbffr 6AM City, LLC
