OVERVIEW: The core mission of Southeastern College is to provide targeted educational services that meet community needs. The role of campus Faculty members is to engage students, foster learning, role model professionalism, and ultimately produce competently trained students prepared for professional careers.Education, and Training:Faculty delivers courses that are part of standard academic programs. The Radiologic Technology Instructor is responsible for ensuring a quality education for students in their course and program at the campus level. All Radiologic Technologic Instructors should have at a minimum:Bachelor's DegreeFour years of experience in the fieldPrior teaching experienceARRT certifiedBUSINESS CONTRIBUTIONS: Faculty and instructional staff are responsible for leveraging their expertise to deliver education services to students through:Delivering course lecturesFacilitating student engagementWorking one-on-one with studentsAssessing students and providing developmental feedbackESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Prepare Course Plans and Materials: Review Course Control Document (CCD)Prepare syllabusCreate lesson plansCreate exams, quizzes, and projects/assignmentsCoordinate with librarian and bookstore for availability of materialsDeliver Courses: Administer pre-test/post-testDeliver lectures/facilitate labsGrade projects and examsProvide progress reports/mid-term feedbackMaintain grade bookEnforce policies (attendance, dress code, no food and drink...)Monitor Progress/Attendance: Monitor student progress and follow-up as neededTake daily attendance and enforce attendance policyFollow-up with students who miss a class (phone calls)Report attendance issues to the DeanAdvise Students: Answer student questionsBe available for one-on-one assistance/tutoringRecord Grades and Submit Reports: Maintain grade booksAdhere to departmental grading policiesProvide Dean with weekly reportsProvide students with mid-term evaluationsSubmit final gradesOther Duties - Adjunct and Full-time Faculty: Monitor equipment and supply needsMaintain classroomMaintain any relevant licensures and certificationsSeek out an approved substitute in case of faculty member's need for absenceParticipate in graduation ceremoniesWork with Dean, Associate Dean, and other Faculty on retention plans and programsOther Duties - Full-time Faculty: Attend campus faculty meetingsWork with Program CoordinatorsParticipate in committees and knowledge sharing forumsPrepare for and participate in convocationPHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands are those required in a professional office setting and higher education teaching environment: communicating with coworkers, presenting to a classroom of students (virtual classrooms for on-line), demonstrating procedures and techniques, and getting to and from appropriate classes and offices.WORK ENVIRONMENT: Professional office setting: moderate noise levels; controlled indoor climate.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.LOCATION: This position is an onsite position located at your campus unless otherwise determined by the Executive Director and/or designee.
